WHO WE ARE OHO INTERIORS is a Twin-Cities & Black Forest, Colorado based boutique interior design firm with clients nationwide.
We are a team of creatives who love what we do and who we get to do it for. We take pride in the work that we do and the relationships we cultivate with our clients. We believe in collaboration with our peers, teamwork every step of the way and leading with integrity first, always. We are listeners, creative problem solvers and are exceptionally passionate about elevating the everyday with great design. We value history, architecture and believe that the key to every project is bringing together the past with the future.
We know that home building and renovation can be challenging and filled with obstacles and endless decisions and we are here to be your advocate and decision maker from start to finish. We work hard on your behalf to make the renovation or building process easier, more efficient and a lot more enjoyable. We value communication, humility and kindness within our team, with our clients and with your build team.
We are skilled in our field but we truly believe that our education for new methods, technologies and practices never ends in this ever-changing field. We are dreamers but also doers and are confident in our ability to craft a home you’ll love. We have incredibly high standards and truly live by the Charles Eames quote, “Details are not the details. They make the design.”

Melissa will also be a Guest Speaker at the Fall 2024 Haven Workshop in Sonoma, California and has been featured as a guest on various podcasts including Shanna Skidmore’s Consider the Wildflowers.
Melissa Oholendt
Founder & Design Principal
Melissa Oholendt found her passion for interior design in her youth; buying shelter magazines with her allowance from picking strawberries in the backyard and painting her bedroom that perfect shade of navy blue. However, after beginning her interior design college education in 2001, it took more than 15 years, a fast paced career for a distressed debt hedge fund in Minneapolis and a decade long entrepreneurial career in photography, for Melissa to step into her purpose in 2019, where Oho Interiors began.
In the years that have followed, Oho Interiors has been nationally recognized for their English-inspired updated traditional yet utterly livable interiors and exists to craft fully custom homes that speak to tradition with eyes on the future with the goal to truly contribute & enhance our client’s lives, all in the name of great design.
Kate Sikorski
Senior Designer
Kate Sikorski has always had an eye for detail and an affinity for connecting with others. After years of begging her mother to drive her through neighborhood after neighborhood to absorb as many houses as she could, it became evident ‘home’ was something she was extremely passionate about.
When it came time to lay the bricks for what career lay ahead for Kate, it made perfect sense to follow a path that was centered around ‘people and home’. She pursued an interior design degree in the mountains of Colorado and began her career there in residential design.
Since moving home to Minnesota, she joined Oho Interiors in 2022 with more than 5 years of firm experience. Kate’s vast skillset has allowed her to execute on countless custom homes spanning many styles but she finds herself truly at home within Oho’s traditional aesthetic. While endlessly excited about the technical aspects of this job and the beautiful spaces that are a result of that hard work, Kate takes each day on the job with an approach to best serve the clients and team of Oho Interiors.
Rachael Kubinski
Designer
With over a decade of experience in the design industry, Rachael has become synonymous with turning clients' dreams into tangible realities. Passionate and dedicated, Rachael thrives on the challenge of delving into the unique images that reside within clients' minds and bringing them to life through the art of design. With an innate ability to infuse spaces with warmth and character, Rachael's designs not only reflect the aesthetic preferences of clients but also encapsulate their individuality and essence.
Beyond the realm of design, Rachael leads a fulfilling life as a devoted parent to two energetic young boys, who, along with a supportive husband, keep the household bustling with activity. Always immersed in a home project, Rachael finds joy in the creative process and the opportunity to continuously transform spaces into havens of comfort and beauty.
Driven by a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients, Rachael approaches each project with unwavering commitment and enthusiasm, ensuring that every detail is meticulously curated to exceed expectations. With Rachael at the helm, every design endeavor becomes a journey of discovery, collaboration, and ultimately, the realization of dreams.
Madalyn McCartan
Associate Designer
Since she was a young girl, Madalyn McCartan has had a passion for her surroundings where she would draw her family's dream house in Crayola crayons and give her opinion on every open house they visited. From a young age, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in interior design and make her passion a reality.
Madalyn earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Iowa State University, where she learned the technical and artistic skills to design functional and beautiful spaces. She then moved to Denver, Colorado, where she gained valuable experience in various residential design projects and developed a unique eye for cabinetry and a knack for understanding her clients' needs and preferences.
In 2024, she joined Oho Interiors, a midwest-based interior design firm that specializes in creating custom and personalized homes and also connected her to her midwest upbringing. She is excited to be part of the Oho team and to work with clients who share her vision and values. Madalyn enjoys connecting with her clients and making each project unique to their style and taste. She believes that a home is more than just a place to live, it is a reflection of who you are and what you love.
